ROCKY
MALE | Arrived JANUARY 2013
-
In Dec 2012 Rocky was found in the Rakaia Gorge with a badly injured right wing, which unfortunately had to be completely amputated to save his life.
After starting his rehabilitation in Christchurch, Rocky joined us here in Marlborough at the Kārearea Falcon Trust in Jan of 2013 to further recover and, due to his permanent disability, join our breed for release programme.
Rocky was named by our previous aviary manager Diana Dobson, because he came from the ‘Rocky’ Rakaia Gorge.
Rocky recently lost his long-term mate Maia and is now waiting till a suitable female arrives in our care to become his new partner.
